LMS for RTOs · Australian VET-native

The LMS that knows the difference between completion and competency.

Built around units of competency, mapped to AVETMISS, USI-ready, and aligned to the 2025 Outcome Standards. Not a generic LMS in a VET wrapper.

  • TGA unit imports keep elements, performance criteria and evidence intact
  • Competency judgements stay with authorised assessors — never the algorithm
  • Trainer and assessor authority enforced at the marking layer
  • Per-student, per-unit evidence packages retrievable on demand
  • NCVER outcome codes flow direct to NAT00120 and USI

Sound familiar?

The same six conversations every RTO manager has had.

If you recognise even three of these, your LMS is not doing the job an LMS for RTOs should.

We use Moodle but our compliance team rebuilds the assessment matrix in Excel anyway.

RTO Manager, community services

Our LMS marks units complete the moment a student finishes the SCORM. That is not a competency judgement.

Compliance Manager, multi-sector RTO

When ASQA asks for evidence on a single student, we pull from three systems and stitch it together.

CEO, regional training provider

Every trainer sees the same buttons. Nothing stops a person under direction marking competent.

RTO Manager, aged care

Late amendments do not flow back to USI and we do not know which transcripts are out of date.

Quality Manager, workforce training

Every quarter our admin team reconciles the LMS with the SMS by hand. It is a fortnight of work.

Operations Lead, RSA/RSG provider

What is inside RTO Grow LMS

An LMS that speaks VET, not training-and-development.

Six things a generic LMS cannot do — built into the data model from the schema up.

TGA Unit Imports

Pull units of competency direct from training.gov.au with elements, performance criteria, knowledge evidence and performance evidence intact and structured.

Performance Criteria Mapping

Every assessment task linked to the specific PCs and evidence requirements it satisfies. Your assessment matrix is the data, not a separate spreadsheet.

Trainer Authority Enforcement

Persons under direction can deliver but cannot mark competent. The system enforces it at the API layer — not as a UI suggestion.

Evidence Packages

Pull a full per-student-per-unit evidence pack on demand. Submissions, decisions, reasonable adjustments, RPL claims — all timestamped and version-locked.

NCVER Outcome Codes

Outcomes recorded against NCVER values from the moment they are entered — Competency Achieved 20, RPL 51, Credit Transfer 60 — ready for NAT00120.

USI Transcript Sync

Track which USI transcripts are current and which need re-submission after amendments. Late changes do not get lost.

How it works

From scope to NAT file in four steps.

1

Import your scope

TGA unit imports populate the data model with full structure — no manual rebuilding of elements or PCs.

2

Map assessment

Link each task to specific performance criteria and evidence requirements. Once. Reused across cohorts.

3

Deliver and assess

Trainers deliver. Authorised assessors mark. The system tracks every decision with timestamp and version.

4

Report and audit

Outcomes feed AVETMISS, USI and audit packs in one click. No quarter-end reconciliation marathon.

Why RTO Grow

Six reasons RTOs switch from generic LMS to native VET.

Built around the VET data model

Not retrofitted from corporate training. Units, elements, performance criteria and evidence are first-class objects in the schema.

2025 Outcome Standards aligned

Designed around F2025L00354 from day one — not patched in after the standards changed.

One schema, one source of truth

Enrolment, delivery, assessment, reporting share the same database. No integrations to maintain. No reconciliation.

VDS STARS API ready

Mapped to the VET Information Standard schema for the 2028 cutover. AVETMISS today, STARS tomorrow.

Records retention by default

Legislated retention periods enforced by the system. No admin person has to remember to archive.

Australian-built, RTO-specific

Built in Australia for Australian RTOs. Support that knows the difference between NAT00080 and NAT00120 without Googling.

Built for

RTOs across every sector and scope.

Common questions

What RTO managers ask before they switch.

Is RTO Grow an LMS or a Student Management System?

Both — and that is the point. Most RTOs run a separate LMS and SMS, then spend admin hours reconciling them. RTO Grow holds enrolment, delivery, assessment and reporting in one schema. The LMS is not a module; it is the same data your reporting runs on.

Can we import our existing courses and SCORM packages?

Yes. SCORM 1.2 packages upload directly. Existing course content can be migrated into the unit-of-competency structure manually or via API. We help with migration as part of onboarding.

Is RTO Grow built on Moodle?

No. RTO Grow is a native platform built specifically for Australian RTOs — not a Moodle wrapper or a Moodle theme. That means no plugin sprawl, no version drift between Moodle releases, and no audit risk from third-party plugins falling out of maintenance.

How does it handle Recognition of Prior Learning?

RPL is a first-class workflow. Evidence is collected against the same performance criteria as a standard enrolment. The outcome is recorded with NCVER code 51 (RPL Granted) and flows to NAT00120 and the USI transcript with the correct flag.

Does the LMS integrate with our enrolment forms and payment?

It is your enrolment, payment and LMS — all in one platform. Students enrol, pay, and access their learning through the same system. No duplicated student records, no double entry between enrolment and LMS, no reconciliation.

Who is responsible for compliance — RTO Grow or us?

You are. RTO Grow gives you the structure, the validations, and the evidence trail to do compliance work cleanly — but the CEO, RTO Manager, assessors and compliance team remain responsible for assessment judgements and what gets submitted to ASQA and NCVER. We make the data clean. You own the call.

How does pricing work?

Per-active-enrolment pricing scaled to your size — no upfront platform fee, no per-trainer seats. See /pricing or book a demo and we will quote against your actual enrolment volume.

Stop reconciling your LMS with your SMS.

One platform. One data model. One audit pack. Built around units of competency, not retrofitted from corporate training. See it on real data in 15 minutes.
