Export AVETMISS NAT files

Where: Compliance → AVETMISS submission

AVETMISS (the national VET data standard) reporting is generated here as a ZIP of ten NAT files.

  1. Click "Compliance" in the sidebar, then "AVETMISS submission".
  2. Work through the "Pre-flight Check". Each line — missing date of birth, gender, address, Indigenous status, or USI (Unique Student Identifier) — shows a count with a "Fix →" link to the affected learners.
  3. If a missing-locations panel appears above the check, set a default location for each listed delivery — every training activity row needs one.
  4. Under "Generate NAT Files", pick the "Collection Year" and "Collection Type" (usually "VET Provider 8.0").
  5. Click "Validate". Errors block the export; fix them and validate again.
  6. If only warnings remain, tick the acknowledgement checkbox ("I understand there are N warnings…").
  7. Click "Download ZIP".
  8. Follow the "What to do next" card: log in to the NCVER AVS portal at avs.ncver.edu.au, upload the ZIP, review the validation report, and submit when it passes.

The "NAT Files Generated" card lists all ten files (NAT00010 through NAT00130) so you know what's in the ZIP.

If something looks wrong Validation messages name the file and the enrolment at fault. What you report, and when, is a compliance decision — check with your compliance officer before submitting.
