Build your unit content once, reuse it everywhere. A unit of competency — its learner guide and its assessment — lives in your library, not inside a single course. When you add a unit to a course, the course points at that shared library content. So the smoothest path is to import your units and build their content first (in Unit content), then wrap courses around them — author once, and every course that uses the unit stays in step. New to this? Start with the getting-started guide.
Where: Courses → open your course → "Units in this course"
- Click "Courses" in the sidebar and open your course.
- Click the "Units in this course" card (or the units tile near the top of the course page).
- To pull every unit from a qualification at once, click "Add units from TGA" at the top of the page. In the "Add units from training.gov.au" dialog, enter the qualification code — the full unit list is fetched and you tick which ones to add.
- To add one unit you've used before, type its code or name in the search box under "Units of competency" (or "Add another unit") and click the "+" next to it.
- If the unit isn't in your registry yet, type the unit code and click "Fetch from training.gov.au" — it's pulled and attached in one step.
- For a unit that isn't on training.gov.au (non-accredited content), click "Add manually" and fill in the code, name, and whether it's "Core" or "Elective".
- To remove a unit, click the X on its row and confirm. The unit is archived, not deleted — its history is kept for audit.
What happens next
Each unit row shows its content state: "No content yet", "In progress", or "Complete". A unit counts as complete when it has both a published learner guide and a published assessment.
