Provide your USI (Unique Student Identifier)

Where: "Profile" in the top menu → "Unique Student Identifier (USI)" card

A USI (Unique Student Identifier) is a reference number every learner in Australia needs before a nationally recognised certificate can be issued. If your dashboard shows "Add your USI to receive your certificate", this is the fix.

  1. If you do not know your USI, look it up first at usi.gov.au — the profile page links to "Look it up here". If you have never had one, you can create one free on the same site in a few minutes.
  2. Back in the portal, select "Profile" in the top menu.
  3. Scroll to the "Unique Student Identifier (USI)" card.
  4. Type your USI into the "USI" box. It is 10 characters of letters and numbers, like ABC1234DEF.
  5. Select "Save Profile" at the bottom of the page.

Next to the USI box you will see a badge once it is saved:

  • "Pending" — we have your USI and your training provider is verifying it with the USI registry.
  • "Verified" — all checked. Nothing more to do.

Make sure the name and date of birth in your profile match your USI account exactly — mismatches are the most common reason verification is delayed.

What happens next

Once your USI is verified and you complete every unit, your certificate is issued automatically. You do not need to chase anyone.
