Add a learner without enrolling them yet

Where: Enrolments → Learners

Use this when someone should be in the system before they're enrolled — for example a corporate group you'll enrol later, or a learner who'll pick their own course in the portal.

1. Click "Enrolments" in the sidebar, then "Learners".
2. Click "Add Student".
3. Fill in "First Name", "Last Name", and "Email" (phone is optional).
4. Click "Save & invite".

To create the learner and enrol them in one go instead, click "Create Enrolment" on the same page — that flow lets you create the learner record and pick the course together.

What happens next The learner gets a login invite by email and can self-enrol in the portal. Their row shows in the "Learners" list with their student number, USI (Unique Student Identifier), login status, and whether their profile is complete — the profile details matter later for AVETMISS (the national VET data standard) reporting.

If something looks wrong If a learner can't log in, open their profile and resend the invite from there.
